It’s been a while since I teamed up with my inner child to do a reading, and today feels like the perfect day to do it. Things have been getting pretty serious around here lately! There’s a Full Moon coming up this weekend (21 May, 2016 to be exact), so the intention is to draw on the cards to offer some advice to use the upcoming Full Moon energy.
As I shuffled 2 cards popped out of the tarot, 2 out of the angel deck, and 1 out of the goddess deck. [The reading consists of 5 Cards and uses images from the following decks: 2 Tarot (The Lewellyn Tarot by Anna Marie-Ferguson); 2 Angel Cards (Healing with the Angels by Doreen Virtue); 1 Goddess Oracle card (Goddess Guidance Oracle Cards by Doreen Virtue).]
Let’s see how it plays out:
6 of Wands: Oh yeah! It’s victory time! This feels like recognition for consistent work and focus that may be long-awaited. Phew. It’s time to relax into the strength and inner power you’ve built through your past experiences and trust that you have laid solid foundations for the life you desire. You may feel tired from the effort, so take time to rest to ensure you have energy to celebrate your victory!
Inner child Jenny: Get out the party poppers! Put on your dancing shoes! This guy looks like he has worked so hard for such a long time, and now it’s time to play! I want ice cream! I want cake! Let’s have a party! He definitely needs to put some flowers on that stick of his, to make it prettier. Why is he so serious?
3 of Swords: Well, shucks. Of all the cards in the deck, this is hands-down my least favourite. In this case, it feels like a warning to not let old patterning sneak up on you and sabotage your mental processes. Try not to get pulled into old beliefs of ‘not enough’ or ‘unworthy’ that will undermine the feeling of achievement and celebration. This feels in large part like it’s mental exhaustion – as if you’ve been trying to keep your thoughts positive for so long that now things are shifting, the doubt creeps in. The woman in the card is lifting her head up, which is a good sign. She’s just beginning to wake up from the old story.
(The man in the 6 of Wands is riding right towards her. This feels significant. It’s as if the victory and recognition is coming from without but she’s looking the other way. She has not yet begun to feel the effects of the celebration. She has been caught in the story of the ‘struggle.’)
A-ha! This is the perfect time (the Full Moon) to release those old stories once and for all, and to take the ride that’s coming, into the New. To climb up on that horse and go towards celebration and victory, and leave the rest behind.
Inner child Jenny: She looks very sad. And tired. I want to give her a hug. Maybe no one has hugged her in a while. Have you hugged your friends lately? Sometimes all I need is for someone to tell me it’s going to be okay. Also, I might see if she wants to have ice cream with me.
Angel Card 1- Trust: This card draws me to the reflections of the orb she holds in her hand. It is a reflection of the sun and the sun is also reflected in the water. It feels to me like it represents her inner heart-light, which is a reflection of All that Is. Trust that. Trust that your inner light is the true reflection of who you are and what you bring to the world. Trust that it is tapped into the Source of all things and guides you towards your purpose and your expansion.
Inner child Jenny: Trust is child’s play. Get it? Get it? Ha ha!
Angel Card – New Love: Don’t you just love the feel of that? There’s a lightness to this card that brings a sense of connectivity and freedom. The inner work you’ve done to recognise and honour your beauty and your self is an act of extreme self-love. As you move forward, trust that you are deeply rooted in this new love, and it will guide you to resonant people, places and experiences. This is where dropping the mental stories, patterns and belief systems really helps. Believe the inner light!
Inner child Jenny: Hey, where can I get one of those bow and arrow sets? I did archery at camp one year and really liked it. Sorry, am I supposed to be doing something here? Oh, right. Love is good. Children know love. Then it gets all messy as you grow up. It doesn’t have to, you know. Just play more. And have flowers in your house.
Goddess Card – Hathor: Receptivity. A-ha. This is where the message comes together in a neat bundle. In releasing old mental ties (surrendering), you make room to celebrate and welcome the new, in all its forms (receiving). Trust the process. You cannot fully surrender without trust, and trust is not without surrender. Trust has no object – it is a state of being more than an action. In other words, you don’t have to trust something specific, you need to feel into the state of trust.
Receiving happens on multiple levels simultaneously, and includes that capacity to release and surrender. So as you are opening to let go, you are simultaneously opening to allow in. Stay open. Stay surrendered. Trust the process.
Inner child Jenny: This lady is pretty. I like her necklace. I like to have stuff given to me. When I get presents, I can’t stop smiling. I love to play with new toys and share them with my friends. I also like seeing how happy people are when you give them things. They smile like the Cheshire Cat. And you can feel it in your heart when you give someone a gift. You can feel it when they receive it. It’s like a magic happy pill.
Happy Wednesday, and Happy Full Moon week. Thanks to my inner child for playing along. I love her insights. For some reason, I’m now craving ice cream…
